Got it done, almost. I am not happy with my ground wire. Plus I ran out of connectors, so I need to grab some more to finish up. But, I did hook it up to listen to it.

Here is the amount of clearance between the sub and the bottom of the rear seat.

It sounds like it's distorting in the video, but it's just my S3 microphone.

Hoss got a workout tonight. The high school is getting an artificial turf field, so they are selling the sod. They said this is about 3000 lbs. and it is proof that Hoss needs some overloads.

Hoss had a 150 mile road trip to get a load of bricks today. Granted only half of the trip was loaded, but it still got decent MPG's.

Hoss got some much much needed love today. In its old age, Hoss has developed some rust spots. So, I got out my POR-15 kit and got it all taken care of today. I'm thinking that I am going to Plasti-dip the bottom with a lighter silver than it has now. I was going to use bed liner, but that's a little more permanent than I'd like.

The old truck seems to be having some shifting issues. Last time it did this, three years ago, changing the fluid and adding some Lubegard made it feel new again - despite finding chunks of a sprag and a shell spring in the pan. I'm crossing my fingers that it will hold out just a few more months. I already need the 4R70W built in the Expedition.

As I mentioned a post or two back, I did some POR-15 on some cancer the PO overed up with the silver paint. This is a temporary fix, because I don't have the time to do the body work. The POR-15 should keep the rust from spreading rather well.

I didn't want to drive around with black all over it, so instead of Plastidip I went to the paint shop by work on the way home today. The color the PO used is not a factory Ford paint, so I knew it would need to be matched. We use these guys all the time at work to match our machine colors, so I knew they can do it. However, I was not expecting to see the method they use. There is a guy that works there that matches color by eye. I was skeptical, but he did it dead nuts. This guy is friggin good.

Before with POR-15

After

Putting here for future reference

I also got these for Hoss. I forgot I can only fit a 24 on the drivers side though. I need to get a 22 for the passenger. I think I've got one on my desk at work.

That rust isn't to bad. When I was looking for a F150 there are a lot that need complete rocker panels. But I do live in the rust belt.

I saw a few as well. My truck came from up in Morgan County where they tend to use more salt than Salt Lake County. I figure it's pretty normal though. One of these days I'll cut it out and replace pieces. Or maybe I'll throw in the towel, lol. It was built in June of 96, so it is 19 years old.

Well, with some hint dropping, I got a new toy for Hoss for Christmas. Audiobahn has a new 10 inch underseat sub I picked out. It is the TORQ TQ10DF. I wound up getting it for a STEAL at $83.67 shipped on Amazon.

Specs are:
- 10" Single 4-Ohm Shallow Mount Subwoofer Air-Tight Sealed Enclosure System
- Peak Power: 1,200 Watts, RMS Power: 500 Watts
- Sensitivity: 95 dB
- Frequency Response: 20Hz - 250Hz Dimensions
- Rigid Spun Aluminum Cone with Hi-Strength Rubber EPDM Enhanced Surround
- 5/8" Durable MDF Wood Construction for Reduced Vibration
- Dimensions: 18-5/8" x 13" x 5-7/8" (W x H x D)

I bought it off of those specs. However it is actually about 7 3/8" tall. So I may have to raise the rear seat. In fact, my measurements are 18 1/2" X 12 3/4" X 7 3/8".
