I took my battery back to Costco to warranty it. They've switched to carrying Interstate Batteries. The warranty is now 42 months, free replacement. And the warranty is gone after that.

Interstate used to be rated no. 1 . I think they are still. Made by Johnson control.

The Kirkland batteries were made by Eveready. So I am hoping this will be better. I know I'm dorky, but I think it's cool that my F150, Expedition, and Mustang all use a group 65 battery.

BTW, I wish I would have bought my battery for Hoss at Costco. This battery is 90 dollars at Costco.

I never had good results with interstate, all 3 I had died within 6 months of new, not all on the same vehicle either. I ran optima before they sold to Johnson, now they're quality has really gone downhill. I run deka AGM batteries now, I have one that has dead shorted twice to zero volts, and its survived and still living. I'm going on 5 years with them, so I know I'll have to replace soon. I'm thinking of trying duralast's AGM battery next, see how well they perform and last. I'm waiting for the lithium polymer technology to hit the automotive market...

One thing is for sure.... if they suck, Costco will dump them. They don't piss around with a shitty supplier.

One interesting thing I read today on the interwebs (so it MUST be true) is that all batteries with the fill caps that have a 45 degree corner on them are ALL made by Johnson Controls. So, the Motorcraft batteries are also made by them.

Shane, you still rockin' the 4 lug wheels on the 8-9? You do know that if you want to upgrade to 5 lug, the front rotors from an eighties 2wd ranger uses the same wheel bearings and is the same diameter as the four luggers on your stang. Actually, back in the early nineties when Ford racing offered a 5 lug conversion kit, the front rotors where pirated from the ranger parts bin.

I have the whole knuckle and brake assembly from a New Edge for it. It has the PBR calipers and the rotors, pads, and bearings are all fairly new. I found an immaculate V6 in the wrecking yard last summer, from which they were pilfered.

I know the geometry is slightly different between the SN95 and New Edge, so there might be some bump steer to clear up after the install.
