I am in the process of replacing the alternator on my 2007 Escape. Right now I can't get it removed because of the top mounting bolt stud. Got the nut off what is the best way to remove the stud. Can't seem to be able to have enough clearance with the stud left on. Why didn't Ford just put a bolt on top like the others . What a pain in the butt.
I have removed the bottom two bolts just can't get the alternator out because it is stuck on the top mounting stud because of no clearance on the left side. How can you remove the top stud.
Don't have a welder, could I JB weld the nut on, then try to remove the stud and get a new one.
