rear block removal on 04-up 4x4's

Well today was a nice day so I removed my rear blocks. The following is a short tutorial with some pics.

1. park truck on smooth level ground and block front wheels, put truck in neutral.

2. remove all 8 u-bolt nuts using a 21 mm socket, remove 4x4 u-bolts.

3. using floor jack, lift one side of truck high enough to unload leaf spring, remove block.

4. slowly lower truck back down until leaf touches spring perch on axle.

5. rock axle back and forth (why truck was left in neutral) until pins on leaf drop into alignment holes on spring perch, lower jack completely.

6. repeat steps 4 and 5 on other side of truck.

7. install shorter u-bolts where 4x4 bolts were.

8. replace lower plates and all 8 nuts, tighten.

9. have a beer your done.

Well I try to educate others when I do something like this. It's what these forums are about.
