2014 Edge Sport transmission noise/clunk

Hey everyone,

So I recently bought a 14 Edge Sport used with 22,000mi. After driving it for about a month, I've noticed a slight clunking when shifting from park-reverse-drive and back. Often, when I put it into park and turn it off, I get a notification telling me my transmission is not in park. Also, when I'm slowing to a stop, right before the actual stop, I hear a clunk which sounds like what's going from 2nd to 1st. They're not terrible, but it happens regularly. Has anyone experienced this?

I would take to the dealer. Hope your under warranty. I think if its not shifting into park it could really be bad.

It shifts into park and stays in park, but the computer tells me the transmission isn't in park.

On old school automatics there was a neutral safety switch with an adjustment to adjust for wear in the shifter linkage. Your symptoms are exactly like an old school auto with the neutral safety switch out of adjustment, either that, or your switch is bad or going bad. Either way, it sounds like a trip to the dealer.

I went in for service today, got a transmission fluid change. I heard the tech ask the service advisor "does this one have the bearing issue"? So, yeah, you might want to check it out.
