Question HID Conversion Question

I have a 2012 Fiesta SEL and am looking at doing an HID conversion since I do a decent amount of long-distance night driving, and there are no brighter H11B bulbs yet. There are no daytime running lights, so I know I don't need a CANBUS or canceller. What I am not sure of is if I need to get the relay that connects the ballast directly to the battery to prevent any flickering. Has anyone performed a conversion on the '12 engine/electrical system, and did you need the relay?

Edit: corrected low beam bulb.

You should always run a fuse/circuit breaker, and when necessary for high amp loads ( I use em for any load over 5 amps). I wouldn't run hid without using a projector housing. All you do is blind oncoming traffic. Sylvania silverstars are quite a bit brighter than stock, and produce a white light, which is brighter...

Unfortunately, there are no H11B Silverstar bulbs, only for the 9005 high beams (unless H11B/9005 share the same socket?). The roads I take are populated enough that I can't use high beams, and lows aren't always bright enough. I have been looking around a bit, and I can't seem to find an OEM projector housing without getting a European version. Do you know of an acceptable aftermarket solution? Housing, insert, etc.

Thanks for your input!

You can try the PIAA Xtreme White, they do make it in the H11B

PIAA makes great products, they are one of the larger companies that produces fog lights. I think you'll be happy.

Federal Mogul has your headlights listed as 9005, and the Fog Lights as H11's. And they do make their Wagner BriteLite series with the same color temperature as the Silverstar's, but they are cheaper. I have BritLite's in my F150, and I love them.

Check out this chart for a Sylvania, Wagner, and PIAA comparison:

Not the best pics, but this will give you an idea of the color temp on the Wagner BriteLite's.
